Ross Emmett

Ross is a dynamic and unique practitioner in many therapies including:

Ross has been a qualified instructor of Therapeutic Massage Therapy since 1983 and was a senior instructor of Bowen Therapy for 8 years (1997-2006).

However, Ross's qualifications do not adequately reflect his ability as a practitioner. He has a unique and special gift that allows him to see each client's need at that moment, to know what to do and to adapt so that the treatment is acceptable to the client. This "chameleon" approach has long been the major success in Ross's technique and produces outstanding results.

He ran busy clinical practices in Mt Isa (1981-1999) and Townsville,Queensland, Australia ( 1999-2008). Ross now travels throughout Australia and the world lecturing and holding seminars on his own unique insight into bodywork. His students range from allied health and medical practitioners to remedial therapists.

Emmett practitioners come from a broad cross-section of the healthcare profession throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the United Kingdom. These practitioners are highly adaptable to the needs of their clients and find that the Emmett Technique offers a valuable addition to their existing work. Using the neuromuscular release, and verbal enhancement skills, it helps practitioners more accurately assess and treat a client's needs, while integrating it with their particular technique.

Ross first brought the technique to the UK in April 2007, to an enthusiastic group of Bowen therapists, massage therapists, physiotherapists, chiropractors and other body-workers, selected for their ability to adapt their treatments to suit a client's needs. Since then, the group has widened and we now receive many applications from both medical staff and complementary therapists who wish to learn Emmett.

About Emmett Technique

The Emmett Technique uses a combination of direct pressure and gentle switches to release specific muscle groups and allow the client's body to return to a state of balance. The results are often dramatic, and can be instantaneous Emmett uses gentle pressure to release specific muscle groups , with most clients recognising the improvements in pain levels and range of movement before leaving the clinic. Practitioners are trained in assessment skills and how to use the best combination of moves in their knowledge base to effect change. Additionally, practitioners are taught special language skills in order to assist the client to recognise and enhance the changes so achieved and this adds to the successful outcome of the work.

Emmett works well alongside any bodywork therapy and greatly enhances the practice of any therapist.
